Home Summer Camps
Before you know it, we’ll be pulling out the sunscreen and beach towels! What is your favorite part of summer? As a child and a teenager, mine was always the week of church camp at Lake Michigan and Lake Louise. I never wanted to leave camp!
Christian summer camps offer a unique opportunity for children and youth of all ages to enjoy outdoor living and to explore their growing faith. There are many wonderful United Methodist Church camps and locations to choose from. I’ve included a list of camps that our students typically attend.
Please follow this procedure to register for camp. (Things are a little different this year.):
- Fill out an online registration form at www.umcamping.org. Each registration requires a minimum $75 deposit.
- Once you’ve received a confirmation email, please forward to: samim@grandrapidsfumc.org for your First Church Camp Scholarship. Each First Church camper will receive a $100 scholarship ($50 for half weeks), which we will pay directly to the Conference.
- If you are a first-time camper or bringing a first-time camper as a friend, please fill out and mail in the rebate form to receive a $50 rebate.
- You are responsible for paying the balance due by May 15. A balance due statement will be sent to you from the Conference Center. There is additional scholarship money available through First Church. Please contact Sami Marasigan at samim@grandrapidsfumc.org or 616.451.2879 for more information.
